The Deviousness Award is given to one deviant each month in recognition of their exemplary contributions to DeviantArt and its community and has been a long-standing tradition since DeviantArt’s early years. writeddreams2reality is the recipient of May 2023’s Deviousness Award, so please join us in congratulating her!

To say writeddreams2reality is a superstar of DeviantArt’s literature community would be an understatement. She’s been highly active over the years, leaving thoughtful comments, featuring writers, providing tips and tutorials, hosting contests, and much more. She also served as a Community Volunteer, helping to connect and highlight writers across DeviantArt and promote their work. We are thrilled to name @writeddreams2reality the recipient of the Deviousness Award for May 2023.

Hi! My name is Danni Lynn, and I am a professional fiction writer with a BA in creative writing.

Being here for 8 years, I have found DeviantArt to be part of my daily life through high school, college, the pandemic, and my work life afterward. Back when I was a teenager begging my parents to let me go online to make an account, I never imagined how DA would impact my life. When I first made my account, I shared my scratchboard drawings, videogame fanart, and photography, and then I took a sharp turn and opened my writing and editing commissions. I never would have guessed those commissions would become my full-time job a couple years later.

Those of us who find ourselves discovering or returning to the varied galleries of DeviantArt understand why this website is so special. I can explore and “meet” artists, hobbyists, writers, and art lovers from all over the world. The sheer number of deviants I have come to know over the years is staggering. DA has always been something I looked forward to and I hope to continue to enjoy far into the future.

Receiving the Deviousness Award is a huge honor to me. It’s a recognition I always admired when I was younger, and I’ve looked up to deviants who have received it over the years. I was floored to receive the recognition and I want to thank everyone, from the staff I’ve come to know over the years to the hardworking Community Volunteers who I’ve had the pleasure of working with, to all those deviants that continue to boost the collaborative feeling of community, and, most of all, to every single one of my amazing watchers.
